My
Story
Alex Bigio
Alex Bigio is a Portuguese-born singer‑songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Cascais, Portugal. At 31, he’s carved a dynamic career as a solo artist—writing, performing, teaching, and touring around Lisbon and beyond
Musical Roots & Style
Growing up in Cascais, Alex was immersed in a musical household: his mother played piano, his father the guitar, and long family road trips sparked spontaneous song-making with his siblings. This eclectic, international upbringing shaped his belief in music’s universal language.
Alex draws inspiration from classic and modern artists from The Beatles, Queen, and Johnny Cash to Jacob Collier, Jeff Buckley, and Dave Grohl—and weaves heartfelt lyrics into engaging melodies with approachable sincerity
Artistic Journey
Alex has been writing songs for around 20 years, with his earliest compositions emerging in childhood. He performs solo, supporting vocals on guitar, bass, drums, percussion, and production with confidence and versatility.
Since his first steps in Cascais’ open‑mic scene over 15 years ago, Alex has embraced vulnerability and honesty onstage—even when playing to strangers or testing new material. His advice to new performers? “Play. Play. Play.”
Projects & Creative Vision
Currently based in Cascais—but frequently traveling for shows and collaborations—Alex funds his ambitions by teaching and gigging across Portugal. He’s working towards turning music into his full‑time career, driven by a deep love of the craft.
He’s especially excited about his new solo album, which he describes as his most honest and personal work yet—equal parts thrilling and terrifying.
